Chief Quintiliani Turns to Mutual Assistance for Car Repair

Chief Kimberly Quintiliani

Chief Kimberly Quintiliani embodies the volunteer spirit—walking senior shelter dogs at the beach, serving as a CGMA representative, and working as a command financial specialist.

Last month, while heading to a volunteer event with her local Chiefs Mess, her car broke down. Already facing financial strain after a previous emergency and her husband’s recent job loss, the unexpected repair felt overwhelming. But Kimberly knew where to turn.

“CGMA stepped in right away—covering the cost of repairs with an interest-free loan and partial grant,” she said. “Without them, we would’ve had to put it on a credit card, maxing it out. In a city like Miami, where a reliable car is essential, this could’ve set us back for years. CGMA’s support lifted a huge burden from our family.”

To donors, she offers heartfelt thanks: “As a CGMA representative, I’ve seen the impact of your generosity—but now I’ve felt it personally. Your support makes a real difference. Please keep giving and encouraging others to do the same.”

With her car back on the road, Chief Quintiliani is ready to continue her volunteer work—ensuring other Coast Guard members know help is available. And tomorrow? She’ll be picking up an older dog for his “Bark Around Town” adventure.

That’s the power of CGMA—empowering Coast Guard members to stay mission-focused without the weight of financial setbacks.
