Chief Petty Officer Sherry Can Afford Medical Support for Her Son Thanks to CGMA

One program, the Special Needs Grant, offers financial aid for unique costs that arise when caring for loved ones with special needs.

For example, it helps cover the cost of adaptive equipment that might otherwise be delayed or inaccessible due to financial constraints. The Sherry-Wong family used this support to purchase an adaptive stroller for their son.

Chief Petty Officer Stacey Sherry shared how this assistance made a significant difference for her family:

“Our family is deeply grateful for your critical financial support in securing an adaptive stroller for our son. After insurance denied the referral from his primary care physician, neurologist, and occupational therapist, reaching out to CGMA was the only way we could obtain this essential equipment due to its high cost. This stroller provides crucial support for him during times of sensory overload and when fatigue from walking sets in due to his medical diagnoses. In addition, the stroller is designed to grow with him as he ages, offering peace of mind to our family regarding his safety in crowded places.
